School Kitchen Re-fit

Encore Electrical was invited to a commercial school kitchen in Somerset to find a solution that improved the existing power design, functionality and safety.  Part of the existing industrial kitchen installation was showing the test of time, and the school were keen to bring it in line with the exacting standards of the rest of the kitchen.  All new equipment needed to be extremely robust since trolley impacts were not uncommon!  Unsurprisingly, an ‘off the shelf’ answer was not available so we were tasked with designing a bespoke solution for this testing environment.

With the help of our friends at Knight Switchgear, we installed four new power boxes supplying the major power to the cooking appliances.  Each box was crafted in stainless steel and supplied via stainless steel trunking drops.  All new containment, cables and distribution boards were supplied and installed around a tight kitchen works schedule.

Our client was delighted with the results, as were we!

• New 54  way 250A distribution board supplied from a 70mm sub-main
• 2 x new boxes with 3 x 32A triple poled isolators with inter-lock sockets
• 2 x new boxes with 2 x 63A and 1 x 32A triple poled isolators with inter-lock sockets
