As specialist installers of electrical and energy monitoring systems in Somerset, the South West and throughout the UK, we were pleased to be able to quote for the installation of a Rayleigh Connect system for Gurit (UK) Ltd on the Isle of Wight. Like many manufacturers, factories, industrial units and commercial users of electricity, the client was looking for a monitoring solution that would help them reduce energy consumption, save money and lower their environmental impact
Gurit occupies a large site incorporating two separate production and manufacturing buildings of 5,500 and 5,000 square metres. As manufacturers of carbon fibre, composite and chemical products their energy consumption is high and they required accurate data in order to control their usage more effectively and reduce costs. They also take their environmental responsibilities very seriously and were keen to improve efficiency and eliminate waste in order to achieve ISO 50001 certification to add to their existing ISO 14001 accreditation.
A programme of works was quickly established that enabled the system to be fitted with minimum disruption to site activities and production. We installed multiple meters and communication units throughout the two buildings and at the heart of the system is a state-of-the-art software platform that:
All the live data and reports have been cloud hosted and can be securely accessed via PC, laptop, mobile phone or tablet and historic data is retained indefinitely, allowing for comparisons and proof of effectiveness when efficiency decisions have been implemented.
The client is delighted with the installation and has already identified opportunities to make considerable cost savings and improve energy efficiency.
And as if that wasn’t enough, we have also become experts on the Isle of Wight ferry services. Top Tip: If you are travelling to the island, we would recommend the Lymington – Yarmouth crossing. It is much quieter and the New Forest is beautiful!
